Southern Oregon - July 2009 - Crater Lake National Park
Our very first view of the lake:

That's not Photoshopped. It really is that blue. It's the middle of July and there is still quite a bit of snow still present in the park. We passed through a big chunk of it on the hike to the Watchman Fire Lookout.

They average over 500" of snow every winter! The view of the lake and Wizard Island is spectacular from the lookout tower:

Unfortunately, that was the last photo we got that day before Mr Moo's camera battery died. We asked a complete stranger to take our photo at the summit with his camera and email us a copy. He said he would once he got home from his vacation so we'll see!
