Stuka, our parakeet, has been temporarily living here in our office while he recuperates from his infection. Normally, he's downstairs in the kitchen so we don't get to hear much from him. This week, however, we're hearing all sorts of new things. I don't know how or when, but he has learned to perfectly mimic the sound of my mobile phone when the battery is low. He's even mastered the frequency, letting out just a single and occasional "meep!" My phone is always in my purse and nowhere near his cage so it has to be a weird random coincidence that he's making the same noise, but it's still freaking me out. Strange little bird.
