When was the last time you played hooky? Explain the situation.

category: Blast from the Past

I don't remember exactly. It was probably back when I was still in college.

Been there, done that whole pulling a sicky thing and then had it come back and bite me in the arse when I have got sick for real !

I have been party to numerous other hooky incidents, many while I was at school. A particularly memorable incident was when, in an attempt to avoid yet another pointless hockey, netball, whatever game, I tied my friend to the bench of the changing rooms with her own socks and held her hostage until the games session was over that afternoon. We waited for everyone to come back, calmly got dressed and strolled out with everyone else to our next class.

In a postscript to this: my friend and I ran into the head games teacher later that day and she hauled us up and said 'Where were you, I don't remember seeing you two at games today !' Just as we were about to fess up and face the inevitable punishment, the assistant games teacher appeared on the scene, clocked what was happening and quickly said: 'oh it's OK, they were on the hockey field with my team.' She didn't like the head games teacher, and so she blatantly lied to save our arses. And in a way, good psychology on her part as we made a point of never missing one of her hockey games again !

GINGER:
That's so cool that teacher intervened for you. I hated any and all of my physical education classes all throughout school. That is until I got to 7th grade and had the most handsome PE teacher ever. I didn't miss a class after that! HA!
