High-maintenance refers to people who "require a great deal of attention and excessive effort to maintain". For example, a woman who will only wear expensive clothes and shoes, who won't leave the house unless their hair and make-up are perfect, or who has to have everything a certain way - like Sally in When Harry Met Sally - would be considered high-maintenance.

Gee...hurts, but very true. I speak for myself. Need not all the fancy clothing, hairstyle, the locations to visit, and be seen. I like to stay home, and wear my well worn clothing. Very comfortalbe, BTW:D
NOw, ask me if I ever dated a high maintenance person....*LOL*

I didn't say ALL men are like that, but, in general, most of them are. And, likewise, most women tend to be high-maintenance. I wonder why that is. Hmm...
