Aside from photos, I have a really old, really beat up jewelry box that was my paternal grandmother's. It's not worth anything and it's falling apart, but it's the only thing of hers that I have. I always think of her when I see it.

My grandmothers cedar chest and silver flatwear set. Both were wedding presents in 1934 when she got married.

I wish I had my grandmother's silver set. My mother has it. She doesn't use or display it. It's in a box in the attic, tarnishing away in the dark. I've asked her for it, but she won't give it to me.
