When was the last time you really pushed yourself to your physical limits? Explain.

category: Personal Profile

Our first day in Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii back in September. We hiked for 12 hours. My legs were like cooked spaghetti at the end of the day.

My grand walk on "the Great Wall of China" Up & down through the watch towers. Then the "shortcut" down the mountain. a mere 1010 steps after the several 100 I'ld already walked. Spaghetti legs? try no way we're moving legs for the next 3 days!
Wouldn't change a thing though, made a great adventure and memory. :-)

I had a hard time hiking at Big Bend National Park on the window trail. Hiking to the window was easy but I didn't condiser it was going to be a 2 mile hike back up a 1000 ft rise. I was so hot I poured my bottle of water on my head but by the reaction of kids and parents I must have looked wasted. I will take a sign with me next time that says: "I poured my bottle of water on my head to cool off".

KELLY:
I didn't get much of a chance to rest my spaghetti legs either. We were off hiking again bright and early the next morning and every day thereafter for the rest of the week. We needed a vacation from our vacation once we got home!

JAMES:
Yeah, you have to remember that, wherever you hike to, you have to hike back! We didn't pour water on ourselves, but, when we were hiking in Hawaii, we sweat so much we must have looked like we had. We weren't out to impress anyone, so we didn't care much what we looked like.
