What is your most unusual nighttime or morning ritual?

category: Light & Easy

It's not that anything I do is unusual. It's the fact that I do the exact same thing to get ready every single day that's unusual, right down to the order in which I brush my teeth. Gotta love having OCD.

OCD - the bane of my life. There are times when I am going through my set morning rituals and I think please God am I ever going to be able to get out of my front door today ! I got my sister and bro in law over here at Christmas to try and help me with some cognitive behaviour therapy as it was getting desperate. My sister was horrified at how bad I have become, so I am making a real effort to try and break the cycle. But it's easier said than done. I have lost count of the number of creative lies I've had to make up to explain being late for work, when in reality I have been standing on my doorstep having a massive heart-pounding anxiety attack in case I left a window or a light switch unchecked. Hard to explain to people who don't have to go through it every day. The rational and irrational sides of my brain are in constant conflict and it is a daily struggle.

GINGER:
My OCD isn't nearly as bad as yours, but I know what you mean about anxiety attacks and the brain conflict. It is impossible to explain to people who don't have it why you can't sleep at night because the towels aren't folded properly or things aren't lined up straight in the pantry. Are you taking any medication for it?
