What was the hardest era of your life?

category: Hard-Hitting

I think it would have to be the years right after I graduated college. It took me a little while to find a job and had to live off the generosity of friends for a couple months. When I did find a job, it was several hours away. I had to leave everyone and everything I knew at the time and start all over by myself. It wasn't horrible, but I was very lonely for a long while.

When I got sick on 10-17-1996. Got a staphylococus infection while in hospital. That resulted in Kidney failure, heart attack, and a blood clot in the entire length of right leg. That 60 days was an era I will never forget. Lost 68 lbs in 61 day and will never be able to work again. Bright side is I am here have four great grand kid along with wife and other family.

I'll let you know when it's over. Compared to what I've been reading - I've got nothing to complain about. Although, I will add this: when God wants to knock you down hard, He let's you know what it's like to have something bad happen to your children.

JOHN G:
You are very fortunate to have survived all of that. I'm glad you did though!

JOHN H:
I don't think there are many people who can hold a candle to all that John G. has gone through. It's important to keep things in perspective.
