I bought a 75 piece set of white china from an estate sale for $10 many years ago. It was far from the most expensive china ever, but it was pretty enough that I displayed it in my cabinet. I gave it all to my mother-in-law last year when I bought new tableware for Thanksgiving and she's putting it to good use. Between the two of us, we've definitely gotten more than $10 worth of use out of it.
