I once did a cartwheel in the living room. My brother was in a large rocking love seat. My foot slid underneath it just as he was rocking it forward and it crushed several of my toes. I was in complete agony and couldn't walk for a couple days. Looking back on it, I have no doubt that I broke at least one of my toes. My mother accused me of faking the whole thing and wouldn't take me to a doctor.
